Morningstar, the efficient and painstaking proprietor of the Star Dry Cleaning establishment at 307 East Cherry Street, has demonstrated since establishing this business in 1909 what can be accomplished by practical methods, turning out first-class work, with quick service and moderate prices the essential features. Ladies' and gentlemen's garments of all kinds are cleaned, pressed and repaired. Three expert assistants are required and the latest facilities in the way of improved machinery have been installed. Gentlemen's suits are made to order, and owing to the high quality of material, correct workmanship, durability and lasting fit, these clothes have won a reputation upon their merits. the enterprising proprietor, was born in Iowa in 1887 and there educated. He has practically always followed this line of business, being thoroughly conversant with all modern methods and details pertaining to the business. He is a valued member of the Owls, M. W. A., and highly esteemed. All lines of business are of importance to any community but none are a greater necessity than the well equipped and carefully conducted photographic studio. photography is the most difficult to contend with, owing to the shade and colors of apparel; but owing to the thorough training and long years of experience Mr. Siner guarantees to always obtain the desired expression as well as position in posing of subjects. Mr. Siner has all facilities and equipment required to execute the best work. Mr. B. F. Siner was born in Indiana in 1850 and there educated. He is a valued member of the Mason, and M. W. A. This successful concern was established in 1902 and is located at 113 North Main St., on the west side of the square. The business conducted is handling of provisions of all kinds at retail exclusively. A reputation for excellency of goods handled with courteous treatment to the trade and honorable business methods has been gained. The store is 23x150 feet and is well appointed, having cash carriers, handsome displays, refrigerating system, cashier and bookkeepers' department, and all else which goes to make a metropolitanly conducted establishment. The stock of goods carried is one of the most complete as well as the most conservatively selected in this city. Staple and fancy groceries, canned goods, teas, coffees, fruit and vegetables, and in fact every article of food consumption used are to be found at this store. The patron receives the benefit of low prices and fresh goods, with quick service when trading at this place. Mr. J. K. Hill adopted from the start a policy of fair dealing and honorable business methods which have been his most valuable assets. One of the mercantile establishments of this city standing foremost among similar concerns of its kind is that located at 123 West Cherry St., and conducted by Mr. W. F. Tummel. This business was established in 1906 and owing to the original ideas and progressive methods employed, always having a consevatively selected stock complete in every detail and quoting low prices, a meritorious reputation and large trade has been built up. The accompanying cut is a correct reproduction of the interior of this popular store. The stock is attractively arranged and the assortment is large. From six to eight sales people are required. Quick service and courteous treatment are important features. A specialtiy is made of a large assortment of useful articles ranging in prices from 5 to 49 cents. The stock carried is always up-to-the-minute and this store is never undersold. Mr. W. F. Tummel, the live and enterprising proprietor, was born in Illinois and received his education in Iowa. |
