D. I. THORNTON CLOTHING CO.

          One of the advantages which the people of Nevada have which is not possessed by every city, is a first-class metropolitanly conducted gent's furnishing goods store. This we owe to the proprietors of this clothing store which became established about one year ago. While there are a number of firms handling gent's furnishing goods and clothing in this city, there are none deserving more particular mention than the above named firm. Their success was assured from the start owing to the line carried and prices quoted. They have increased rapidly in both patronage and popularity until at present they are recognized as leaders, always having the latest styles, the best made clothing, as well as a large assortment of stylish and durable hats, and other apparel which is always appreciated by the most fastidious. This store is under the direct supervision of Mr. Thomas E. Thornton, son of the senior member of the company. Mr. T. E. Thornton was born in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1887.


T. A. ROBERTS.

          That Nevada is enjoying prosperity at this time, which is not possessed by many cities in this part of the country is an established fact. Real

estate is increasing rapidly and is not the result of a boom but the outcome of natural advantages and due to the adaptability of this locality as a residential and commercial center. One of our, real estate men who stands high and has won this standing and a meritorious reputation by honorable business methods is Mr. Roberts, who occupies offices on the south side of the square. This business was established in 1907. Real estate in this city, farm land in the vicinity or western ranches can be bought or sold through this office. Loans are made and insurance is handled. A large business is conducted and a guarantee of satisfaction is assured all. Mr. Roberts was born in this state in 1853. He has always been a resident of Missouri. He is a valued member of the Masons and I. O. O. F., and is highly esteemed by all.


W. L. BRIDEWELL.

          This spacious, finely equipped and heavily stocked mercantile establishment is located at 604 East Cherry Street. It became established in this city in 1887 and has since that time stood decidedly in the lead when compared with similar institutions A large and complete line of staple and fancy groceries, high grade flour, canned goods, teas, coffee, spices, fruit, vegetables, smoked and dried meats and by-products are carried. They also

handle a large and comprehensive stock of high grade wall paper, interior decorative material and window glass. Mr. W. L. Bridewell was born and raised in this state and is a member of the I. O. O. F., and M. W. A.


THOMAS GILBERT.

          To men having large property interests in the shape of dwellings, factories, mills, warehouses, business blocks, farm buildings, etc., the assistance of the insurance agent is indispensable. By his careful discrimination in the acceptance and distribution of risks, the experienced underwriter becomes intermediary, who guards the interests of the company and property owners, alike. An insurance agent that has earned implicit confidence of a clientage embracing the leading merchants and property owners in Nevada and rural districts surrounding, is Thomas Gilbert, whose office is located at 111 1/2 North Main Street. This business was established in 1890 and has been under the direct supervision of Mr. Gilbert during that entire time. Insurance in all its branches is handled, his motto being the "Kind of Insurance that Insures." Mr. Thomas Gilbert was born in Cole County, Illinois, in 1846, and there educated. He is a member of the I. O. O. F. and Knights and Ladies of Security.
