RICHARDSON'S RESTAURANT.

      It is almost an invariable rule that in all great centers of business there are certain houses in each line of trade which stand pre-eminent and have built up, by close attention to business, a liberal and substantial patronage. Such an enterprise in this section is the Richardson Restaurant on East Cherry Street, the fourth door west of Union depot. Mr. Richardson conducts one of the best known, most ably managed and high class eating houses in this city. This business was established in 1900 and is favorably known to a large majority of the particular people within a radius of fifty miles. The patronage has shown a decided increase with each succeeding year which is ample proof that Mr. Richardson is keeping fully abreast of the times. most valuable assets. Mr. Richardson was born and raised in Bates and Vernon County, Missouri. He is a member of the K. of P., I. O. O. F., A. O. U. W., and M. B. A. Previous to establishing this restaurant he was successfully engaged in the mercantile business in this city for eleven years. He is the business manager of the Nevada Fuel Company, the largest retail dealers in coal and wood in this section. Mr. Richardson also conducts a well appointed and commodious chicken ranch, specializing breeding and, raising the Crystal White Orphington chickens. These chickens are very large and beautiful and known to be the most extensive egg laying hens on the market. The eggs from one hundred hens are disposed of exclusively for hatching purposes, being shipped to all parts of the country to raisers and lovers of fine poultry. Correspondence in regard to

Two assistants are required and 2,000 square feet of floor space is occupied, all of which is utilized by attractively arranged displays of the fine and complete stock carried. Mr. F. W. Van Auken, the proprietor, was born in Virginia in 1875. He received his education in Virginia and Washington, D. C. He has followed this line of business during his entire career and is known to be thoroughly conversant with all details pertaining to the business. Mr. Van Auken is a valued member of I. O. O. F., as well as Secretary of the Nevada Fuel Company, which firm is the largest retail dealers in coal in this city. Mr. Van Auken is highly esteemed in this city as one of our public spirited and influential business men.

F. W. VAN AUKEN DRUG STORE.

      Located at 601 East Cherry Street is to be found one of the heavily stocked and finely equipped pharmacies of Nevada. This business was established in 1902 and has won a large patronage and a meritorious reputation during that time. A large line of pure drugs, chemicals, paints, oils, toilet articles, rubber goods, etc., is carried, also a fine line of imported and domestic cigars and smoker supplies.       Among the cleaning, pressing and repairing establishments of this city, Mr. W. A. Gresham conducts at 311 West Cherry Street, one of those deserving of more than passing mention. This business though only established in the fall of 1909 has gained public approval and patronage, owing to the work turned out and careful treatment of the trade. Work is called for and delivered to any part of the city, with a guarantee of satisfaction as well as promptness in execution of work. Garments of every description are cleaned, pressed and repaired. Mr. W. A. Gresham, the enterprising and live proprietor, was born in Missouri in 1873.
