A system of drugless healing by which a practitioner by a thorough knowledge
of anatomy and physiology and by appropriate manipulations, adjusts structure
so that nature can restore conditions of function to the body, is know
as Osteopathy and was first successfully founded by Dr. A. T. Still in
1874. When patients are cured by this method their disease hasn't subsided,
but has eventually left and they are permanently cured. Two Osteopathic
physicians of Nevada who stand high in their profession are Drs. B. J.
Mavity and Nelle Ferry. They occupy well appointed offices at the northeast
corner of the square. They have been established in this city since 1908
and have during that time won a reputation upon the merits and success
of their treatments. All diseases of the human body have been cured by
this treatment, also deformities, curvature of the spine, rheumatism and
other chronic ailments. The large practice they enjoy is ample evidence
of the esteem in which they are held by all. Dr. B. J. Mavity was born
in Indiana in 1876. He is a graduate of the Kansas City School of Osteopathy
and is a valued member of the K. of P. Mrs. Dr. Nelle Ferry was also born
and raised in Indiana. She is a graduate of the Kirksville School of Osteopathy
at Kirksville, Missouri. She is a member of the Eastern Star and Christian
church. |

This newspaper stands for the views of the people, always containing all the news. Mr. Bean formerly published the Post, selling that paper to Mr. Mitchell fourteen years ago. In the time intervening between the selling of the Post and purchasing the Mail, Mr. Bean traveled very extensively conducting newspapers in various parts. He was at one time vice-president of the Missouri Press Association.       That Nevada real estate offers grand opportunities for the capitalist or wage earner is an established fact. The growth of the city and increase in real estate values has been steady and rapid. Mr. Harris is a reliable man, thoroughly conversant with real estate values and has properties listed for farming purposes, for building factories or store buildings or city residents. He also has improved properties of all kinds for rent

or sale. Money is loaned on improved real estate and fire insurance is handled. Mr. Harris also operates one of the largely patronized book and stationery stores of this city, this store being located at 205 West Cherry Street. All kinds of plain and monogram stationery, school supplies, books, papers, and periodicals are handled. Mr. Harris is also one of the leading practicing lawyers of this city. He became registered as an attorney-at-law at Washington. D. C. Mr. Harris was born in New York in 1851, receiving his education in the schools and colleges of that state. Previous to establishing this business he was engaged in school teaching and practicing law. |
