MAVITY & FERRY.

A system of drugless healing by which a practitioner by a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology and by appropriate manipulations, adjusts structure so that nature can restore conditions of function to the body, is know as Osteopathy and was first successfully founded by Dr. A. T. Still in 1874. When patients are cured by this method their disease hasn't subsided, but has eventually left and they are permanently cured. Two Osteopathic physicians of Nevada who stand high in their profession are Drs. B. J. Mavity and Nelle Ferry. They occupy well appointed offices at the northeast corner of the square. They have been established in this city since 1908 and have during that time won a reputation upon the merits and success of their treatments. All diseases of the human body have been cured by this treatment, also deformities, curvature of the spine, rheumatism and other chronic ailments. The large practice they enjoy is ample evidence of the esteem in which they are held by all. Dr. B. J. Mavity was born in Indiana in 1876. He is a graduate of the Kansas City School of Osteopathy and is a valued member of the K. of P. Mrs. Dr. Nelle Ferry was also born and raised in Indiana. She is a graduate of the Kirksville School of Osteopathy at Kirksville, Missouri. She is a member of the Eastern Star and Christian church.

In the time intervening between the selling of the Post and purchasing the Mail, Mr. Bean traveled very extensively conducting newspapers in various parts. He was at one time vice-president of the Missouri Press Association.
