am a Software Engineer at a technology company in the San Jose area. I have a Masters of Science in Software Engineering from Santa Clara University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Boston University. My interest in software has always been driven by a fascination with digitally capturing the world around us and recreating it on the internet. I remember when I was young playing with a game on a friends computer where you could explore around a fire hydrant. I was fascinated by the ability to explore this new world. I could go through a crack in the hydrant, climb a weed, talk to a caterpillar, explore a ship in the picture hanging on the caterpillars wall, etc. In college I started playing with the idea that the world could be "scanned" and put on the web where people could explore it. I was fascinated at the possibility of being able to go inside the great pyramids, see the view from the top of the Eiffel Tower, or walk around Boston in the 1700's. This could preserve these treasures from time, human destruction, prevent them from deterioration from tourism, and allow access to all parts by all people. I really hope that this happens in the future. It would be an amazing thing.
I am a staunch believer in the internet as a medium to gather information and distribute information freely. In the spirit of this belief I allow anyone to copy and redistribute anything they find on this site. Anything you get from this site should not be sold. I don't care if you give me credit or not, just don't claim things I have done as your own work!
I will be happy to provide you with a CD copy of anything relating to my genealogy research on this site, plus a lot more that I have in my personal collection. I have high resolution scans of all photos and lots of other information that may not be on this site due to size limitations. Just drop me an email and I will put together what you are looking for and put it in the mail.
